The weather is getting increasingly cold and ugly, and you know what happens on those days...(besides pigging out on ben & jerry's while sitting all snuggly under your blankets watching your favorite guilty pleasure). You reminisce the great ol' summer days!
So, pack your bags.
Kiss the ground good-bye.
First stop on my one month trip to Europe this summer was Hamburg, Germany. Did you know that it is the second most populous city in the EU that isn't a national capital? It also has more bridges crossing their canals than Venice, or any other city in the world for that matter. Go on, check Wikipedia if you don't believe me, but I promise I learned this while I was there. The Germans are a very proud people.
This is the Hamburg Rathaus, or townhall. It is still in use today, for the mayor I believe.
What else does Hamburg offer?
-Shopping, of course (although with the U.S. dollar standing where it is today...)
-Tierpark Hagenbeck (the zoo!)
-The Dom (which is the best carnival I've ever been to...not a crappy New Jersey one, let me tell you.)
-Museums
-Musicals
-Street fairs and flea markets
-The harbor promenade
-And what I hear is quite the poppin' red light district.
(sorry, this was a family vacation, no experience there...you'll have to go find out for yourself ;) )
:))))))
